This might be my favorite movie of all time.  I think somebody has my DVD copy.  Dammit.

The art director had flown from the UK to Florida to take a shot of a beautiful old Ford Mustang. Back in the UK, the account manager says the client is unhappy with all the palm tree fronds.

Account Manager: “Couldn’t we just photoshop some of them out?”

Art Director: “Well, it’s not quite as easy as that, because if you look at the shot, there are reflections of the palm fronds in the car’s glistening bodywork. They’ll be harder to remove.”

Account Manager: [Slightly bewildered] ”Yes, but if you remove the actual palm fronds, then the reflection of them will disappear too.”

Enough is enough, clientsfromhell is getting followed.

Frank Zappa - Joe’s Garage

Anyone who ever was in a band or knew people in a band or hung out in someone’s garage listening to their band play the same chords over and over as their mother screamed from the house to turn it down can relate to this song.

I was thinking a lot about Zappa today, thanks to Zaius. I know he had a slew of songs that were better than this but this one holds so many good memories for me it will always be my favorite Zappa.

Down in Joe’s Garage
We didn’t have no dope or LSD
But a couple of quarts of beer
Would fix it so the intonation
Would not offend your ear
And the same old chords goin’ over and over
Became a symphony
We would play it again and again and again
‘Cause it sounded good to me

There are no outfits to buy, costumes to rent, rivers to dye green. Simply celebrate the day by stopping by your local bar, tavern, saloon, winery, distillery, or brewhouse and having a drink. Pick up a six-pack on your way home from work. Split a bottle of wine with a loved one. Buy a shot for a stranger. Just do it because you can.

Thanks for reading about what we hope will become a celebrated day in this country. Please help spread the word about Repeal Day, and tell a friend.

Repeal Day is December Fifth

Remember to drink something with alcohol in it tomorrow.
